The TimeTRONIX software can be easily interfaced
with your existing Payroll software. All payroll software accept standard
time attendance data produced by TimeTRONIX software. This data is
provided in MS-access or text format. Most payroll software will accept
text data.

Q. What is importance of desktop in TimeTRONIX Desktop
package?
TimeTRONIX Desktop is a computer based Time attendance
system. It must be used with your computer and cannot work standalone.
Fingerprint scanner is completely dependent on the computer. Hence this is
Desktop Time attendance package. Fingerprint scanner must be kept very
near to the computer and once should not think of architectures where you
try to alienate Fingerprint scanner from computer.
Q. Can we connect multiple Fingerprint scanners to one
PC?
No, even though your PC may have more then one USB port
you can only connect one fingerprint scanner at a time. Other USB ports
may be used for other USB devices like camera etc.
Q. Is TimeTRONIX Desktop a complete Time Attendance
package, do I need to purchase anything else?
Yes TimeTRONIX is a complete Time attendance package with
hardware and software required for basic time attendance requirements of
small and medium companies. Time attendance package only offer time
attendance reports and does not do payroll processing.
You are not require to purchase any other hardware,
software or service.
Q. Can we install TimeTRONIX desktop on any operating
system?
No, TimeTRONIX desktop can be used only with windows
98/Me/2000/XP. It cannot be used with windows 95 and NT because they do
not support USB ports required by fingerprint scanner.
Q. What are system requirements for TimeTRONIX
desktop?
Since TimeTRONIX do processor intensive fast fingerprint
matching, it is recommended to use fastest available computer for best
performance. It require 200MHz + processing power and 128MB+ RAM.
Q. What can be maximum distance between Fingerprint
scanner and computer?
Fingerprint scanner is suppose to be kept near the
computer like a printer or mouse, it comes with 1.5 meters cable but it is
possible to increase the cable to 3 meters by using simple 1.5m female to
male USB extension. It is possible to increase the cable to 6.5-8m by
using active USB extension cable.
We recommend you not to think about increasing this
distance unless strictly required as this will deviate you from the basic
concept of TimeTRONIX desktop. We have observed people trying to extract
features similar to standalone systems from desktop package with some
alterations. This will led to unstable system architecture.
Q. What if I have other USB devices connected to my
system?
Fingerprint scanner reserves 70% of the USB bandwidth for
its use, 10% is already reserved by the system, hence only 20% is left for
other devices on single USB host controller. Hence other devices using
more then 20% bandwidth will give problem with Fingerprint scanner. But
most computers today have 4 USB ports with two USB host controllers, this
means that you have full bandwidth available on second USB host controller
for other devices. It is also possible to purchase addon USB PCI card to
extend USB host controller/ports on your computer.
It has been found that some motherboard (normally in
assembled/grey PC market) do not provide sufficient current to USB ports
which lead to problem in case multiple USB devices are connected. Hence
problem can occur due to insufficient current as well as insufficient
bandwidth in case of multiple USB devices are used. These problems are
clearly reported by the operating system whenever they occur.
It has been found that the problem of insufficient
current is very prevalent with Old laptops where this problem may occur
even if only fingerprint scanner is connected. This is mainly because
laptops are designed to save power to increase battery life.
Q. Can I use any other fingerprint scanner with your
software?
No, The TImeTRONIX package, its drivers and fingerprint
matching software only support the scanner included with it.
Q. How can I get custom features integrated in time
attendance software?
You can end clear Software requirements specification to
BioEnable, we will evaluate your requirements and in case we find that
these change may be useful to many clients in future we will do this free
of cost for you. For other changes we charge nominal service fees. You can
also integrate these features yourself if you have knowledge in ASP
programming.
Q. Can we add new reports and rules ourselves in time
attendance software?
BioEnable does not provide engine/wizards to
automatically add rules of generate reports, but if you have ASP
programming skills you can easily add new reports.
Q. Can I install Time attendance software on my web
server?
Yes, you can install it on Windows 2000 or latest server
and access it from any where through internet.
Q. Do I need to install time attendance software on
multiple places to see reports?
No, TimeTRONIX software is browser based and once
installed on a computer or server it can be accessed from anywhere on the
LAN through browser.
Q. How can you ensure that my investments in time
attendance software will not go waste in long term?
BioEnable is continuously working on TimeTRONIX to
integrate new features and also provide you with large part of the source
code which allow you to take control of the software and integrate
additional features of your choice yourself or through your development
partner. hence your investment in TimeTRONIX will give you long term
returns.
Q. Do I receive free upgrades to TimeTRONIX time
attendance software?
Yes, you will receive free upgrades till one year. After
this you can purchase the new versions of the software if required or
continue with the older version.
Q. What warranty is offered for Fingerprint
scanner?
One year replacement warranty is offered for fingerprint
scanner.
Q. What if Fingerprint scanner stops working?
You will need to get it replaced or you will need to
purchase a new one. It is not repairable unless its small problem.
Q. Can I use same fingerprint scanner for other
applications?
Yes, but you may need separate application software to
use Fingerprint scanner for other applications.
